If you have ever watched a factory shed come up in a matter of weeks and wondered how that is even possible, chances are it was a pre-engineered building. A PEB is not built the way a conventional structure is. Instead of pouring columns and beams on-site and waiting for concrete to cure, the entire frame is designed and fabricated off-site to exact drawings, trucked to the plot, and bolted together by an erection crew. We are based out of Ghaziabad with our fabrication works in Hapur, and over the years our PEB structures have gone up in warehouses, factory sheds, showrooms, and cold-chain facilities across the country. Some clients come to us with a fully worked-out architectural brief; others come with little more than a plot size and a rough idea of what they want to store or manufacture inside it. Either way, our job is to translate that into a steel frame that does what it needs to do without costing more tonnage than it should.

What Does Our PEB Structure Scope Cover?

People sometimes assume "PEB structure" just means the main columns and rafters. In practice, our scope is a lot wider than that. We handle the primary framing — the columns and rafters that carry the building's main loads — along with the Z and C purlin system that ties the frame together and supports the roof and wall sheeting. On top of that we supply the accessories that most buildings end up needing anyway: turbo ventilators, translucent skylights, gutters and downpipes, personnel doors, and mezzanine framing where a client wants an extra working level without going the full route of a multi-storey building.

What we try to avoid is the situation where a client buys "just the frame" from one vendor, sheeting from another, and accessories from a third, and then discovers on-site that nothing quite lines up. Sourcing everything from one place — us — means the purlin spacing, sheeting overlap, and accessory cutouts are all designed together from day one, not reconciled after the fact.

How the Design Process Actually Works

A lot of first-time PEB buyers assume the process is: send us a drawing, we quote, we build. It rarely works that neatly, and honestly, it shouldn't. The first conversation is usually about what the building needs to do — clear span, eave height, whether there's an overhead crane, whether the roof needs to carry solar panels later, what the local wind zone and seismic zone are. Those inputs decide the frame geometry long before anyone talks about steel sections or pricing.

Once we have that, our design team works out a primary frame that is engineered to code — IS 800 and the relevant wind and seismic codes — but also optimized so we are not putting more steel into the building than the loads actually demand. This is where a lot of the cost difference between vendors comes from. Two PEB suppliers can quote for the "same" 30m x 60m shed and land at noticeably different tonnages, purely because one design is tighter than the other. We would rather spend an extra day iterating the frame than hand over a structure that is heavier, and more expensive, than it needs to be.

Fabrication and Quality Control

Design is only half the job. Fabrication is where a good drawing either becomes a good building or doesn't. Every member is cut and drilled to the approved GA and fabrication drawings, welds are checked, and sections are dry-fit and dimensionally verified before they leave our works. We would rather catch a fit issue in our own shed than have an erection team discover it forty feet up a column on-site.

Members are shipped with erection marks and drawings that correspond directly to the fabrication, so your erection contractor isn't left guessing which bolt goes where. If your project also involves heavy steel fabrication — crane girders, thick-plate built-up sections, or machine bases — we can take that on alongside the standard PEB scope, so you are not coordinating between two separate fabricators for one building.

Common Uses for PEB Structures

The honest answer is that most industrial and semi-industrial buildings in India today are candidates for PEB, simply because the speed and cost advantage over RCC is hard to ignore once clients see the numbers side by side. We have supplied structures for factory sheds, distribution warehouses, retail and automobile showrooms, and cold-chain shells that later get fitted out with insulated panels and refrigeration. If your building involves composite flooring at an upper level, we also supply decking systems designed to work with the frame rather than as an afterthought.

Roof geometry is another area where clients have more choice than they often realize. Not every shed needs a plain gable roof — for warehousing fronts or architectural sections, a curved barrel-vault look using crimp curve sheets is a common request, and we curve those sheets in-house to your specified radius.
